30+years of active citizenship
25+years professionally, with the UN and beyond
Known as the Active Citizen, Jerotich has spent more than 30 years in active citizenship, always anchored in human rights, the rule of law, women’s rights and gender equality. For the last nine years her focus in Kenya has been building citizen-led action to protect and implement the Constitution. Her work spans energy justice and consumer protection; social protection; urban planning; green mobility; and environmental sustainability.
She is also a businesswoman. In the heart of Nairobi she runs a boutique hotel that celebrates Kenyan cuisine, with a calendar of live music, retreats and garden gatherings worth coming back for. This is where Jerotich’s passion for art and design shines through.
Jerotich is the mother of three sons. She works toward a just and equitable world for them and for the generations after them.
