Who:
The Crucible is a collective of experts offering training and mentorship to emerging critical voices in developing democracies. Our intellectual space confronts the scourge of repressive regimes and tackles radical ideas for egalitarian nation-building. Rooted in Pan-Africanist perspectives, we pursue fearless revolutionary exploration of knowledge towards centering humanity in governance.
What:
The Crucible engages the services of professionals and experts in various fields to teach a curriculum geared towards expanding the minds of revolutionary citizens. Our clients are the public. From those who come through our doors, there will always be those who rise to a higher calling in nation-building. Modes of radical exploration and bold intellectualism include using performing arts, lectures and workshops, film and digital humanities.
Why:
The Crucible steps in to a gap often left when the philosopher has been coopted into the emperor’s court to sing the praises of a despotic regime. We need free thinkers if we are to lead revolutionary shifts in nations that now suffer a deep chasm between an exclusive super-rich and a wailing majority living in constant need and indignity. The Crucible finds inspiration from daring and heartfelt rising such as the June 25th wave that was led by the “Gen-Z” in Kenya. We take these moments and use them to mold the minds of willing citizens, through the fire of radical knowledge, to build and lead the nations they want to live in.
A crucible is a container in which ingredients are crushed or fired up to extreme temperatures, and made available as medicine for curing disease. We are that safe place that offers young minds the opportunity to go through precisely tailored, intensive and rigorous learning so they can go forth ready to change their world.
